Traditionally used to adorn the luxurious cabins of Bentley’s high-performance grand tourers, this veneer now graces the surface of a handcrafted surfboard, symbolizing both elegance and adventure.
The Koa veneer, chosen by Marnie Rays founder Lindsey Holland and Otter Surfboards’ James Otter during their visit to Bentley’s headquarters, is a nod to the heritage of surfboard craftsmanship originating in Hawaii. Bentley’s craftspeople ensured only the highest-quality wood was selected—highlighting the brand’s timeless dedication to sustainable luxury.
The Journey from Woodshop to Waves
The surfboard was meticulously shaped by hand in Cornwall by James Otter, using traditional methods and natural materials. Bentley’s masterful woodwork and Otter’s craftsmanship come together in this remarkable piece, which is not only a functional surfboard but also a piece of art. Finished with engraved logos from Bentley, Marnie Rays, and Otter Surfboards, it exemplifies the harmony between automotive excellence and sustainable design.
The process of its creation was documented in a short film, featuring scenes from Bentley’s Crewe HQ, James Otter’s workshop, and the Cornish coastline—where the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase was featured as a symbol of luxury exploration.
