Porsche continues to push the boundaries of electric performance, achieving yet another Guinness World Records™ title. The Porsche Taycan GTS has set the record for the longest continuous drift on ice by an electric vehicle, completing an astonishing 132 laps and covering 17.503 kilometers in a controlled oversteer. This incredible feat took place at the Porsche Arctic Center in Levi, Finland, under extreme winter conditions, proving the Taycan GTS’s outstanding stability, power, and precision handling.

Breaking Records with Precision and Power

Behind the wheel of the Porsche Taycan GTS, Porsche Experience instructor Jens Richter demonstrated the car’s ability to maintain a controlled drift for nearly 46 minutes. Despite the ice track deteriorating faster than expected, a second attempt with adjusted tire spikes allowed the Taycan GTS to surpass the previous record of 14.809 kilometers. Equipped with Michelin tires featuring one-millimeter spikes, the car showcased its advanced all-wheel-drive system, balanced chassis, and exceptional performance.

The official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, Carl Saville, validated the record using professional GPS measurement devices, which precisely tracked the Taycan GTS’s movements, including steering input, throttle control, braking, and G-forces acting on the vehicle.

This new Guinness World Records title marks the fourth record held by the Porsche Taycan, following:

• 2023: Greatest altitude change by an electric car (Taycan Cross Turismo – 5,573 meters along the Xinjiang-Tibet route).
• 2021: Fastest speed driven inside a building (165.1 km/h in New Orleans, Louisiana).
• 2020: Longest drift by an electric vehicle (42.171 km in 55 minutes at the Porsche Experience Center, Hockenheimring).
