From Dreams to Stage: Porsche Korea’s Ballet Programme Ignites Dreams
In a remarkable cross-continental journey, Porsche Korea, in collaboration with ChildFund Korea, has celebrated the successful conclusion of its 'Porsche Turbo for Dreams - Ballet' programme. This unique initiative, part of Porsche Korea's broader 'Porsche Do Dream' social contribution campaign, has provided young ballet students with an extraordinary opportunity to experience their dreams coming to life in Stuttgart, Germany.
A Milestone Programme
The 'Porsche Turbo for Dreams' ballet programme is one of ten CSR projects launched by Porsche Korea to mark its 10th anniversary. This special milestone has allowed Porsche Korea to expand its 'Porsche Do Dream' campaign into ten diverse programmes spanning education, sports, arts and culture, environment, and society. By investing in these areas, Porsche Korea aims to support the sustainable development of future generations, empowering them to chase and achieve their dreams.
Since its inception, the 'Porsche Do Dream' initiative has been instrumental in supporting Korean society. Over the past seven years, Porsche Korea has donated a total of 7.63 billion KRW (5.59 million USD) to 118 organizations and 31,417 individuals. For this year, Porsche Korea plans to contribute an additional 1.75 billion KRW (1.28 million USD) through its expanded programmes.
A Journey of Excellence
The 'Porsche Turbo for Dreams' initiative offers exceptional opportunities for young talents by providing them with international exposure and training. This year's ballet programme was a groundbreaking cultural outreach, offering international training to ballet students from underprivileged backgrounds. In June, Porsche Korea, alongside ChildFund Korea and Dance Planner, selected 15 gifted ballet students, ranging from 5th graders to high school sophomores, for an intensive mentoring programme in Stuttgart.
The two-week camp included master classes with renowned Stuttgart-based dancers, personalized mentoring, cultural excursions, and even profile photoshoots at the Porsche Museum. The students also had the chance to tour the Stuttgart Ballet's John Cranko School and perform pieces such as 'Don Quixote Kitri Solo,' 'Esmeralda Solo,' and various contemporary dance numbers.
Celebrating Dreams and Achievements
Porsche Korea CEO Holger Gerrmann attended the final performance at Theaterhaus Stuttgart and was deeply impressed by the students' achievements. “Through the Korean ballet students’ performance in Stuttgart, the hometown of world-class ballet and Porsche, the audience could feel the excitement and positive energy of this international cultural exchange,” Gerrmann said. “With Porsche Turbo for Dreams, we aim to help young talents fulfill their dreams. The memories they created will not only shape their futures but also inspire everyone who witnessed their remarkable journey.”
Porsche Do Dream: A Legacy of Support
Porsche Korea’s commitment to social responsibility is deeply embedded in its brand philosophy. In partnership with ChildFund Korea, the 'Porsche Do Dream' campaign continues to enhance various social contributions. The campaign includes initiatives like the 'Porsche Dream Playground,' which builds indoor gymnasiums at elementary schools, and 'Porsche Dream Up,' which offers scholarships to talented children in arts and sports. The 'Porsche Dream Circle' creates green spaces and installs solar panels, fostering environments where children can thrive. Additionally, the 'Dream Smart Eye' campaign focuses on children's traffic safety, while 'Porsche Future Heritage' supports intangible cultural heritage.
In 2021, new programmes such as 'Porsche Do Dream Fill the Space' and 'Porsche Dream Art Ttareungi' expanded Porsche Korea’s social contributions to include performing arts, urban beekeeping, and green space initiatives.
