Porsche Rounds Off the Second Taycan Generation: Enhanced Performance, Expanded Lineup
At the beginning of 2024, Porsche introduced extensive upgrades to the Taycan series, enhancing its design, power, range, and charging capabilities. Now, the Taycan family expands further with the introduction of three new models: the Taycan GTS, Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, and Taycan 4 sports sedan, rounding out a total of 16 different versions. This evolution reflects Porsche’s dedication to meeting diverse customer needs through innovation in electric performance.
Expanding the Taycan Range
The latest additions make the Taycan lineup broader than ever, offering three body styles, all-wheel and rear-wheel drive configurations, and Porsche E-Performance motors ranging from 300 to 760 kW. The Taycan 4 sports sedan and new Taycan GTS models can now be ordered, with deliveries anticipated in early 2025. Additionally, Porsche has introduced new exterior color options, including Slate Grey Neo, Pale Blue Metallic, and Purple Sky Metallic, adding further personalization opportunities for customers.

Taycan GTS and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo: Performance and Precision
The Taycan GTS name carries significant weight in the Porsche community, symbolizing Gran Turismo Sport performance. Available as both a sports sedan and a Sport Turismo, the Taycan GTS offers up to 515 kW of overboost power with Launch Control, a 75 kW improvement over its predecessor. The new push-to-pass function, part of the standard Sport Chrono package, allows for an additional boost of up to 70 kW for 10 seconds at the touch of a button, delivering a thrilling surge of acceleration. The Taycan GTS can reach 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, making it 0.4 seconds faster than the previous iteration, while also boasting a range of up to 628 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
The exterior of the Taycan GTS models features Black or Anthracite Grey details, giving them a unique and sporty look. Inside, customers are treated to premium materials such as Race-Tex and smooth black leather, further enhancing the luxury feel. Adaptive Sports Seats Plus, a multifunction sports steering wheel, and the Sport Chrono package are standard inclusions, reflecting Porsche's commitment to combining comfort with high performance.
Taycan 4: All-Wheel Drive Meets Efficiency
Porsche also introduced the Taycan 4, designed for customers seeking the efficiency of an entry-level Taycan with the added stability of all-wheel drive. Available with either a standard Performance battery or the optional Performance Battery Plus, the Taycan 4 offers an overboost output of up to 320 kW with Launch Control. Its range reaches up to 643 kilometers with the Performance Plus battery, making it a standout in the all-wheel drive category.
The Taycan 4’s electric motors on both front and rear axles provide exceptional driving stability and traction. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and benefits from an improved all-wheel drive strategy that optimizes efficiency by decoupling the front electric motor when not required.
State-of-the-Art Technology and Enhanced Charging
All Taycan models have undergone upgrades in terms of technology and design. Improvements include an advanced powertrain, a new rear-axle motor, modified pulse inverters, and more powerful batteries. The latest thermal management systems, next-generation heat pumps, and improved recuperation strategies all contribute to greater range and performance. At 800-volt DC charging stations, Taycan models can charge at speeds of up to 320 kW, making quick top-ups more convenient than ever.
