At the 17th Mercedes-Benz Sustainability Dialogue held in Stuttgart on November 20, 2024, the luxury automotive giant outlined its six strategic focus areas to drive sustainable transformation. These areas underscore the brand's commitment to environmental, social, and corporate governance, setting a benchmark for sustainable practices in the automotive industry.
Renata Jungo Brüngger, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, highlighted the importance of these initiatives, stating, "We want to make the greatest possible impact with what we do. Our six sustainability focus areas address issues that matter today and will continue to matter in the future."
1. Decarbonisation: Toward CO?-Neutral Mobility
Mercedes-Benz's “Ambition 2039” goal aims to make its entire new vehicle fleet CO?-neutral by 2039 across all stages of production and throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Key initiatives include:
