Chevrolet and GMC Truck Mania: Record Sales, New Demographics, and Unmissable Offers in the Middle East
General Motors is making headlines across the GCC with Chevrolet and GMC Truck Mania, a month-long celebration of record-breaking sales and shifting customer trends. Following an 18% year-over-year sales growth in its Chevrolet and GMC pickup lineup, GM is bringing exclusive offers, immersive experiences, and tailored test drives to customers from 13 August to 13 September 2025 in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar.
This year’s Truck Mania isn’t just about big horsepower and rugged capabilities — it’s about the evolving face of truck ownership in the Middle East. From younger drivers aged 20–29 embracing off-road culture to a surge in female ownership, GM’s latest campaign reflects the region’s changing lifestyle trends.
A New Generation of Pickup Enthusiasts
Off-roading remains a core part of Gulf culture, and GM is tapping into the new wave of enthusiasts. In the UAE, the GMC Sierra is now a top pick for first-time buyers, particularly among Emiratis in their 20s. In Saudi Arabia, the Chevrolet Silverado continues to see strong loyalty among repeat buyers aged 30–50, thanks to its proven durability and versatility.
Furrukh Jawaid, GM’s Chief Marketing Officer for Africa and the Middle East, explained:
"Off-roading in the Gulf is a rite of passage. The desert is more than just terrain — it’s a tradition. Youth now make up 20–35% of our customer base, and Truck Mania brings our most capable trucks to the forefront with offers and experiences that meet their expectations."
Women Driving the Pickup Trend
While men still dominate the truck segment, female ownership has more than doubled in the past three years. In 2024, women represented 9% of GM truck buyers in the GCC. Kuwait leads the way at 13%, followed by the UAE at 9%, and Qatar at 7%.
In the UAE, a third of GMC Sierra owners are middle-aged Emirati women, with a 50% year-over-year growth among women aged 20–29. For the Chevrolet Silverado, female repeat customers over 30 — particularly in Kuwait — are driving the segment’s momentum.
Rohan Fernandes, GM’s Managing Director of Commercial Operations, highlighted the shift:
"Pickups have grown beyond workhorses into lifestyle vehicles — blending style, performance, and heritage. Our growing market share of over 46% in H1 2025 shows just how deeply these trucks resonate across the Gulf."
